After his playing days, Lee continued with the Mets as a scouting supervisor, covering Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. He then transitioned back to the field as a hitting coach for both the Mets and the Cleveland Indians, where he also held managerial roles at the Single-A level for two seasons. During a five-year period, coaching in the Indians’ organization between Double-A and Triple-A, his teams reached the championship series of which in the final three consecutive years his teams capture league titles winning one championship at Double-A and two at Triple-A.

After nine successful years with the Indians, Lee was hired by the Seattle Mariners as the organization’s Hitting Coordinator, a position he held for four years. His final role in professional baseball was as the hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox’s Double-A affiliate in Portland Maine. During his tenure with the Red Sox Lee worked with current Sox players Rafael Devers, Bobby Dalbec, and Jaren Duran. He also worked with Tyler O’neal when he was with the Seattle Mariners. In 2018 Lee earned a World Series ring working with hitters the likes of Mookie Betts and JD Martinez during Spring Training of that Championship season.

After retiring from professional baseball, Lee has continued to share his vast knowledge and experience through local youth baseball programs in his community.
